Class Policies and FAQs

How do I sign up?

You will need to set up an account with MINDBODY to pre-register for classes. We
highly recommend pre-registering for all classes, as they may be filled when you
arrive. It is important to us that we are able to accommodate all clients, so this
pre-registration will help both you and the instructor prepare. The schedule tab will
help you set up your MINDBODY account.
Downloading the MINDBODY app on your phone gives you the easiest and most
efficient access to the Local Barre class of your choice. If you are a first timer and you need some assistance getting set up, call the studio
and we will hold your spot and help you get set up with the online registration
process. You will need to show up at least 15 minutes before class in order to get
registered, as well as sign our waivers.

Do I need to come early?

If you are new, please come 10-15 minutes before class begins to make sure you are
registered. We will show you around the studio and get to know you a little before
class starts!
Please let us know any injuries you have or have had in the past, so that
we know how to make the appropriate modifications during your workout.

What do I do if I am running late?

It happens! Please enter quietly and find a space where you can fit your mat. If you
are more than 5 minutes late, we ask that you do not enter the studio area in fairness
to other students in the class.

Do I need to pre-register?

Yes, We have a waitlist policy. If you come to the studio and have not registered,
there may be others that were on the waitlist and will be given priority to openings.
If it is your first class, we will try to accommodate you to the best of our ability.

How long ahead of class can I register?

You can register days in advance or up until 30 minutes before a class. If it is after
the 30 minute mark, you can call the studio to see if there are openings available and
we can register you for class.

What is the cancellation policy?

Please cancel class in the app or online if you can no longer make your scheduled
time. We have a 4 hour cancellation policy. If you do not cancel before the 4 hour
cancellation window, you will be charged a late cancellation fee of $10 if you have an
unlimited membership. If you have a class pack, one of your classes will be used.
Incase of an emergency please call the studio. If you cancel early (outside of the 4
hour window) it will not affect your classes or membership.

Does the studio close on certain days?

If you are one of our email subscribers, we will keep you up-to-date on any days that
we plan on being closed for holidays or studio updates etc. We also follow the
Durham, NH school district for snow closings or late openings. You can find that on
WMUR or on our Instagram account (@localbarrenh).

What should I wear?

Wear a tanktop or t-shirt, and fitted workout leggings that you are comfortable in.
You do not need shoes or socks, we work out barefoot! Please remove them and
place them in the designated area of the studio.

What should I bring?

We provide all of the equipment that you will need, including your mat. If you tend
to get sweaty, and we hope that you do, you can bring a face towel. Please bring
your own water bottle to stay hydrated during class.

What ages can take barre?

Anyone over the age of 16 can take barre in our studio! If you under the age of 18, a
parent or guardian will need to sign a waiver for you.

Can I take Local Barre classes if I am pregnant?

Yes! As long as you have been taking barre classes pre-pregnancy, it is safe to
continue! Our trainers have all been trained in making pregnancy modifications for
our students. Please let the instructor know before class, so they can help make the
appropriate modifications and give you the appropriate equipment and attention
that you may need. As always, please speak with your healthcare provider before
taking a workout class of any kind.

Is there a waitlist?

We have a waitlist if class is already fully registered. There tends to be cancellations,
and you will be notified if you have gotten into the class. If you are on the waitlist
and get into class, we expect that you are coming and will have the same
cancellation policy.
If you know you cannot make it ahead of time, please remove
yourself from the waitlist so that you do not get charged a fee.

Can I freeze my membership?

We understand that many of you are students, and go home for breaks, and
summer. If you are on a student membership, we allow a free membership freeze
for the summer as well as winter break. However, it will automatically unfreeze on
the day classes on campus resume. If you would like to extend the freezing period,
there will be a $15.00 charge.
The maximum amount of time to freeze is 3 months.
For all non-student accounts, there will be a $15.00 fee to freeze your account for up
to 3 months.

How do I cancel my membership?

There will be a $30.00 fee to cancel your membership. Cancellations have to be done
in person at the studio. Exception to this fee are student memberships upon

Covid-19 Safety

Do I need to wear a mask?

The use of masks will be required to enter the studio and collect your equipment, and when leaving. You may remove your mask when you are in place at your mat! They are not to be used during your workout!

What is the class capacity during this time?

We’ve lowered our class capacity to 11, and added more barres! That way, we can allow for 8 feet of social distancing between each client. At times, we may have up to 15 at a time, when not using the barres.

Do we bring our own equipment?

We encourage you to bring your own equipment if that makes you more comfortable. That includes mats, bands, weights, balls, towels. Pick and choose what you are comfortable with, but know everything will be thoroughly cleaned in between classes.

How do you keep the studio clean?

Your safety is our top priority. We’ve kept our facility squeaky clean. We’ll continue to do so, and will be thoroughly sanitizing equipment before, during, and after each class. Clients are responsible for wiping down their own mats. Everything else will be done by the instructors. All of our equipment will take a sanitizer shower before being placed back in bins for use. We also have a professional cleaner that comes in to clean the entire studio, as well as multiple floor cleanings.

Can I take your classes outside of the studio?

We’ll continue with our on-demand classes. For clients who aren’t ready to come back into the studio just yet, we’ll continue to host a few live streams, and will keep adding a few classes to our on demand to keep you moving from home!

How do you determine your guidelines?

We are monitoring local, state, and federal guidelines as well as using common sense. We missed getting fit together, but we’re committed to our community’s health. We’ll keep you posted if the situation changes and intend to play it safe.

What If I have a cold?

If you feel sick, please stay home. Working out is not only counterproductive when you’re sick, it’s also a safety concern right now. To help protect the well-being of our community, we've also instructed our staff to stay home if they have even the slightest of symptoms.

What are your Covid-19 parameters?

Do not enter the studio if you have: a. Any symptoms of COVID-19 A fever of 100.4 degrees F or higher. Respiratory symptoms such as runny nose, sore throat, cough, or shortness of breath Flu-like symptoms such as muscle aches, chills, and severe fatigue Changes in a sense of taste or smell b. Close contact with someone who is suspected or confirmed to have COVID-19 in the past 14 days. c. Traveled in the past 14 days either: i. Internationally (outside the U.S.), ii. By cruise ship, or iii. Domestically (within the U.S.) outside of NH, VT, or ME on public transportation (e.g., bus, train, plane, etc.).
